Benefits of veterinary acupuncture
When there is an imbalance in the body, disease arises. Acupuncture restores balance in the body. This way acupuncture allows me to treat each patient individually, bringing balance back to your pets body. Take control of your animal’s health by not only treating the symptoms, but the root cause.
Benefits:
- Pathologies of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, dermatological, renal, locomotor, and neurological systems, among others.
- Pain treatment, improving mobility and quality of life.
- Adjuvant management of oncology patients.
Acupuncture is a valuable and complementary tool in modern veterinary medicine, addressing multiple physiological systems simultaneously.
It offers a non-invasive treatment option that significantly improves the quality of life for animals in most cases.
Veterinary chiropractic
The purpose of chiropractic treatment is to optimize the dog’s musculoskeletal system to restore optimal movement and so that the dog is free of pain. The functioning of the dog’s musculoskeletal system depends on a properly functioning nervous system. Chiropractic treatment affects both the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. New research shows that chiropractic care not only improves the musculoskeletal system but can also have a positive effect on internal organs, such as the intestines and bladder.
Misalignments or lack of movement between vertebrae not only limit mobility but also irritate nerve fibres that communicate with internal organs. When performed correctly, chiropractic care significantly enhances a dog’s well-being and quality of life by enabling the body to maximize its self-healing powers.
Indications:
- back pain
- lameness / reluctance to climb stairs, getting up / dragging toes
- hip dysplasia / osteoarthritis / spondylolysis / musculoskeletal disorders
- arthritic and geriatric dogs
- sport dogs (agility, etc.)
- rehabilitation (trauma, surgery)
- urinary incontinence / dribbling of urine without other medical causes
- lick eczema – recurring anal gland inflammations
All dogs can benefit from the preventive and therapeutic effects of chiropractic treatments, from the family pet to the extremely active dog, from puppies to the geriatric dog.

Britta obtains her qualification in veterinary chiropractic under the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic, IAVC, a world-renowned post graduate teaching institute that trains veterinarians and human chiropractors in the practice of veterinary chiropractic.

Benefits of veterinary food therapy
The famous quote by Hippocrates, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” encapsulates the importance of diet and nutrition in maintaining health and in the treatment and prevention of diseases.
Optimizing the diet of our pets according to each patient is the foundation of their health:
- Improving the immune system.
- Management of chronic diseases (diabetes, kidney diseases, heart problems, obesity, etc.).
- Gastrointestinal and dermatological problems.
- Diets for animals with cancer and/or undergoing chemotherapy treatment, etc.
Food therapy is a powerful tool in integrative veterinary medicine, and as pet owners we are increasingly aware of the importance of nutrition. With proper and personalized nutrition, we can significantly improve the health and well-being of our animals.
Benefits of moxibustion in veterinary medicine
Moxibustion improves blood circulation and the circulation of energy. It involves the burning of a herb called Artemisia vulgaris (moxa) to apply heat to specific points or meridians on the body. This technique stimulates the flow of energy (qi), promotes blood circulation, and enhances overall health.
Benefits:
- Blood circulation.
- Pain relief.
- Strengthening of the immune system.
- Improved Blood and Energy Circulation: Moxibustion enhances blood flow and energy circulation.
- Treatment of respiratory and digestive problems, etc.
Moxibustion can be utilized combined with other medical treatments to improve overall health and wellbeing.

Vaccines & titer determinations
In addition to offering chinese medicine, food therapy and chiropractic care, I also provide titer testing and custom vaccinations. Antibody titers are simple blood tests that help determine which specific vaccines your pet truly needs.
Vaccinations are vital to protect your pet from various diseases, some of which can be fatal. For years, animals have been vaccinated according to standardized guidelines. However, recent research shows that not every animal requires vaccinations on the same schedule. Often, the immunity provided by vaccines lasts much longer than previously thought. Additionally, puppies may need fewer vaccinations because they inherit protective antibodies from their mothers. Administering vaccines to pets that already have sufficient immunity offers no benefit and may even lead to unwanted side effects.
With VacciCheck ®, within just 30 minutes of a simple blood test, you can find out if your pet has enough antibodies. This will help you determine if a vaccination is necessary or if it can be modified. Only one drop of blood is required, and if needed, your pet can be vaccinated immediately. The VacciCheck can be performed on puppies starting at 6 weeks of age.
It is crucial to never vaccinate an unhealthy pet. If your pet has a history of cancer, skin problems, chronic gastrointestinal disorders, or parasites, vaccination may worsen their condition. In these situations, the immune system is already compromised or overloaded, and introducing a vaccine could cause additional complications. It is essential to ensure that the pet is in top shape before any vaccination, to avoid stimulating an already compromised immune system and to minimize the risk of serious adverse effects.
